Highland Alay Valley is located in the south of Kyrgyzstan, between Alay and Chon-Alay mountain ranges. Its length is 150 km, width is from 2 to 25 km, and the average altitude is 3000 m.
At the foot of Lenin Peak there is a base camp for climbers. Its name is Achyk-Tash. The base camp is open during the warmer months, from June to September.
Kichi-Alay valley located to the north of Alay ridge, between the valleys Isfayram-Sai and Akbuura. The eponymous mountain range lies along the valley that reaches a maximum height of 4926 m.
